The Fabric of Awareness –
A Journey Through Life as Art
My approach to art-making is that the marks I create come from within, guiding my inner world to the outer world.
From the inside out is where intuition, authenticity, and healing move. In the act of doing, something arrives, forms are felt and seen that may never have been known unless I allowed myself to explore.
My paintings result from curiosity, play, inquiry, learning, discovery, mark-making, layers, and texture, and from the ability to trust in my inner world, where personal and individual marks originate. Just like a fingerprint, each of us carries a unique mark. The discovery and awareness of these marks are what inspire me.
I am also a transdisciplinary artist and creative catalyst. I use art as a metaphor for transformation. This work points individuals, groups, and organisations along a journey to discover their authentic voice, spark innovation, and create meaningful transformation through painting, creative activities, whole-body awareness, and exchange.
My path has taken me through many worlds: art, design, education, manufacturing, and business. Each has shaped the way I see creativity as a living, practical force.
Along the way, I developed the DoT (Design of Thinking) Approach and The LAB: The Fabric of Awareness, frameworks that explore human dynamics, unlock insight, and inspire transformation on both personal and organisational levels.
Grounded in my Australian beginnings and deeply influenced by my years in Japan, my practice weaves together oil painting, watercolour, natural pigments, acrylic, sumi-e, pastel, and Mitsuroga. Whether in the studio or in a workshop, I invite others to pause, connect, and experience art as a pathway to renewal, presence, and possibility.
